Cat Blood

A cat was hit by a car and died on the sidewalk across the street from my house. I thought this would be a perfect subject for Unsuitable Content because it would deliberately disturb/sadden the animal lovers in the gallery. What could be more unsuitable in art than to exploit your subject to deliberately offend your audience?

My camera was at my studio and by the time I returned, the cat was gone while the fluids it released remained.

I simply focus on the fluid to show the texture of the blood and focus on the subject. I also show a larger view of the sidewalk, emulating a more romantic composition of textures and natural element to make the fluids more of an insidious intruder in the subject. And I also show my fabulous fancy sneakers as a trite self-referential element to point to just how selfish and disrespectful my intent was to the cat, which possibly suffered terribly before dying.
